“Every Brilliant Thing” Play – September 10, 2026

September is Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, and the Eastern Shore Community Services Board, in partnership with Community Partners of the Eastern Shore (CPES) and Virginia Stage Company, is proud to bring the play “Every Brilliant Thing” to the Cape Charles Impact Center on Thursday, September 10th, at 6:00 PM.

This engaging, hour-long, one-person play blends comedy, improv, and audience interaction to tell one individual’s story of learning to cope with a parent’s suicidal depression. It is at turns funny and poignant, offering a celebration of what makes life beautiful and a reminder that hope can be found in the smallest things (and in each other). Since launching in 2022, the tour has been performed more than 100 times for over 10,000 people across the region, sparking meaningful conversations and reducing stigma around mental health.

This event is free and open to the public. Organizations interested in setting up a resource table are welcome to reach out. Join us for an evening that reminds us all that hope, and support, are always within reach.
