988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline Operational
This past Saturday, July 16, marked the first day of nationwide operation for the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. It’s the new easy-to-remember number to reach the existing National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. Mental health is just as important as physical health. This new lifeline number removes the barriers to access to supportive care.
If you are experiencing a crisis you can call or text 988, or chat online at http://988Lifeline.org. Similar to the old number, veterans can still dial 988 and press 1 to be connected to support.
